The Dragon - 'Class of '27'
It's a myth! No one ever slayed the Dragon, well, certainly not the sailboat of that name. Not even the all-powerful Olympic Classes selection committee could make the Dragon Class go away when, in 1972, they decided that the pretty, historic little keel yacht had served it’s purpose and replaced it in the Olympic Games fleet, with the new, Soling Class.
The Dragon - According To Klaus
In researching information regarding the state of the Dragon Class in 2010, I became intrigued with the number of very experienced sailors who are being attracted into the class. Many professionals are involved in the larger regattas and they are loudly proclaiming their enjoyment in racing this ageing little keelboat that appears to have found a very strong, second wind!
RC44 – ‘Team Aqua’ Owns Valencia
Chris Bake’s Team Aqua pulled an enviable treble by winning the match racing, fleet racing and overall championship at the RC 44 Valencia Cup regatta, sailed at the end of July and finishing on August 1.
Sailing Personality - ‘Butch’ Ulmer.
